Dear Mr. Barrie,
I hope this letter finds you well. Though we’ve never met and, at the risk of disturbing your well-earned rest, I must tell you just how grateful I am for the play you wrote about the forever-young, Peter Pan. And to let you know that Peter will fly off to Neverland once again over the parks in my little town this August.
He may be just as you remember him, Mr. Barrie, but time passes and even Neverland cannot escape that fact. Do not worry. The vicious pirates, murderous mermaids and tricksy fairies remain, the lost boys too, minus, alas, the twins. But never mind, there is a band of wild girls, the Red-Handed Megs, who have only recently arrived. You will like them, Mr. Barrie. They will protect the boys and harry the pirates and all will be as it should be. For you and I both know “thus it will go on so long as children are merry and innocent and heartless.” And they are.
